Your business promotion for the Kreis Viersen (WFG)
WFG was founded in 1964 and its associate partners are “Kreis Viersen” and the towns and municipalities within the district. It is responsible for improving the social and economic structure of the district. This is primarily done through furthering industry, business, housing and leisure facilities for which end WFG employees use a variety of instruments.
One focus is the location of trade and industry. For this purpose, the WFG plans business parks and industrial estates in close cooperation with the towns and municipalities in the district of Viersen. WFG acquires, develops and markets plots of land whereby companies can benefit from the tailored sizing of the properties and the excellent transport connections. Another task is that of maintaining the existing business network and infrastructure as well as the various support and consultation services.
WFG also promotes the job market, business and housing through its involvement in institutions with specialist remits. The “Standort Niederrhein GmbH” supports foreign business activities of companies, the regional location marketing and the establishment of a start-up region. WFG is the sole associate of the “Technologie- und Gründerzentrum Niederrhein GmbH” in Kempen, whose responsibility it is to support start-up and young technologically-oriented companies through consultation and the renting of office space. Through its “Startercenter NRW”, the “Technologie- und Gründerzentrum Niederrhein” is the central port of call for start-ups in the district of Viersen. The housing market is supported by the WFG via the “GWG Gemeinnützige Wohnungsgesellschaft für den Kreis Viersen AG”.
Tourism is supported by the WFG by means of its involvement in the “Niederrhein Tourismus GmbH” and the “2-LAND” project. The task of the Niederrhein Tourismus GmbH is to market the region as a tourist attraction and build up a network of service providers and relevant authorities and institutions. Also operating at a regional level is the 2-LAND project whereby the project area encompasses the Lower Rhine border region on the German and Dutch sides. The task of the project is to develop transnational packages and place them on the market.
