zdi – Zukunft durch Innovation (future through innovation)

The aim of the „Zukunft durch Innovation.NRW“ (future through innovation) initiative, briefly called zdi, is to get young people exited for scientific and techincal jobs. Statewide there are 44 zdi-centres/networks and around 50 zdi-student labs. The zdi-network for the district of Viersen was founded by the WFG in cooperation with the district itself, the city of Nettetal, the ministry of sciene, the federal agency for work, as well as different associations and universities, on the 6th of July 2016.

Lower Rhine business community

The Lower Rhine business community is the regional employers’ association in the area. It supports and advises its members in all questions concerning labour- and social law. In addition, it can help member companies with internal conflicts by providing a trained economic mediator. Other focal points are the representation of interests for companies focusing on job security and promotion of young talent, engagement in social- and educational policy and networking among the member businesses.

Lower Rhine location ltd.

To strengthen the Lower Rhine economic area, the cities of Krefeld and Mönchengladbach, the districts of Neuss, Kleve, Wesel and Viersen, as well as the regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK) founded the Lower Rhine location ltd. The corporation represents the economic interest of the region, conducts location marketing and promotes entrepreneurs. Furthermore, it operates the regional agency Middle Lower Rhine. This agency functions as the mediator between state initiatives, businesses, as well as economic and social players in the region. In addition, it builds and maintains networks and relationships.

Kempen business circle

The Kempen business circle (UKK) is an independent network of businesses located in Kempen. Focus is put on the optimisation of shared interests with the aim of strengthening and developing the economic area. Besides internal exchange, current topics like young and skilled labour shortage, broadband expansion, etc. are discussed and solutions are worked out. For this, the UKK maintains close contact to the city of Kempen, the WFG, as well as educational institutions such as schools and universities in Kempen and the surrounding area.
