Reimbursements and subsidies
To help you get started, there are various programmes that provide you with financial support.
- 12x (monthly) €1,000 per startup for innovative business ideas. The subsidy can support up to three startups per business idea
- Does not have to be repaid
- Coaching by experts, managers and consultants from the network

- Up to 90% reimbursement of costs for external consultants for startups
- For drafting and assessing a business concept and assistance in implementing it

- Up to 90% reimbursement of costs for external business consultants
- Only intended for existing companies and sole traders
- For general advice on economic, financial, personnel and organisational questions by the company management

- You can have the mandatory consultation with our subsidiary “Technologie- und Gründerzentrum Niederrhein”

- You can receive financial support to help start a business while unemployed. You will first receive your regular German unemployment benefit (Arbeitslosengeld) for six months + €300 extra.
- To be eligible, you must have been claiming this benefit for at least 150 days from the time you started your business
- The loan does not have to be repaid
- Discuss your business idea with your contact person at the German Arbeitsagentur (employment agency) on time
- Our experts will assess your business plan and give you advice on starting your business
- “Meisters” (the German term for professionals in certain industries who have undergone special additional training) who want to start their own business can receive a one-off grant from the state of North Rhine-Westphalia that does not have to be repaid. The grant covers 70% of the eligible costs, up to a maximum of €10,500.
- For startups, acquisitions and active commitment to job creation and retention
- The application must be made before the start of the activity as a sole trader

- For alumni of higher education institutions (up to five years after graduation) and academic staff. Reimbursements of up to €3,000 per month for up to one year.

Various credit programmes are available for startups. Two loans that are specifically aimed at start-ups are the following:
- Low-interest loan for startups and growing enterprises
- Loan up to €50,000
- Term: 10 years
- No equity capital required
